Ingredients :

Gram (Besan ) flour - 75g
-
Ground rice - 25g

Green Chilli - 2 (optional)

Onion - 1 medium or 150g

Yoghurt (curd) - 1/2 tblsp

Ghee or butter - 2 tsp or 10g

Cumin (jeera) seeds - 1/2 tsp crushed
-
Sodium bicarbonate - a pinch
-
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
-
Curry leaves - 7-8 (optional)

Coriander leaves chopped - 1 tblsp

Oil - 200ml for deep frying

Salt - to taste

Water - as required
Method :

Peel and chop the onion into medium strips; Wash and chop the currly leaves and coriander leaves. Cut the Chilli if it is being added.

Sift both the flours.

Combine both the flours, curd, ghee or butter, salt, sodium bicarbonate, crushed cumin seeds, chilli powder, chopped coriander leaves and chopped curry leaves. Add chilli now if you are adding. Add little water and mix it into a thick paste.

Add the chopped onion and stir well.

Heat oil on a medium heat.

Take about 1 and 1/2 tblsp of the batter mix and spread randomly in oil and fry on a medium heat to get thoroughly cooked bhajis.

Repeat the above step until all the batter is finished.

It makes about 16 bhajis totally.
Notes : Serve it with Tomato ketchup or yoghurt mixed with little pickle.
