Poori

Pooris are the fried flatbreads made in India mostly on the Sunday mornings. Pooris can be the favourite
dish for most of the children.

Ingredients: |

Atta ( Wheat flour) - 2 cup

Maida (Plain flour) - 2 cup
-
Coarse Semolina - 2 tblsp (optional)

Sugar - 1 tsp (optional)

Oil - 2 tblsp

Oil - for frying
-
Water - as per requirement

Salt - to taste

Method: |

Combine atta, maida, semolina, 2 tblsp of oil and sugar, salt in a bowl; Knead them well to coat the flour with oil for about a minute; Knead them well now with little water into a soft rollable dough consistency.

If there is enough time, leave it aside for about 15 minutes for the dough to raise.

Make small balls of about 3-4cm.

Heat a pan of oil for frying.

Cover each ball in oil and roll it into a flat sheet.

Fry the rolled sheet in oil. Turn it over to make a raised poori.
