Cauliflower StirFry

Cauliflower stirfry can be made as a good side dish for Rice and any curry. |

Ingredients: |

Cauliflower - 1 small or 300g
-
Onion chopped - 1 tblsp
-
Cumin (jeera) powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)

Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
-
Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
-
Oil - 6 tsp
-
Water - as required

Salt - to taste

Method: |

Wash the vegetable. Cut cauliflower into small florets. Cut the onion coarsely.

Leave cauliflower separately in a pan. Pour hot water over cauliflower and leave for about 3-4 mins. Drain the water.

Heat a pan on the stove and add oil.

When the oil is hot enough, add curry leaves and chopped onion. Fry for about a minute.

Add cauliflower florets and 1/2 a tsp salt. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder. Fry for about 2-3 mins.

Sprinkle little water over; Cover and cook for about 4-5 mins.

Open the lid and stir the vegetables few times whilst it is getting cooked to avoid the sticking of vegetables to the bottom of the pan.

Once the vegetable is cooked, add cumin powder and stir-fry for further 4-5 mins.

Serve them in a serving dish when they are ready.
