Tomato Chutney taste good for Idlis/Dosas. |

Ingredients: |

Tomato - 4
-
Onion - 1 small
-
Dried red chillies - 3 for medium spicy or 4 for extra spicy

Garlic - 2 cloves
-
Urid dal - 1 tsp (optional)

Curry leaves - 7-8
-
Black mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp

Salt - to taste

Oil - 2 tblsp

Method: |

Chop tomatoes and onion.

Peel the Garlic.

Heat a pan and add a tblsp of oil.

Add urid dal and red chillies and fry for about a minute.

Add onion and garlic and fry for about 2-3 minutes.

Remove them from heat and let it cool down for about 5-10 minutes.

Grind them into smooth chutney with tomatoes.

Heat a pan and add rest of the oil.

Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Add the ground chutney and salt.
-
Boil the ground chutney for about 4-5 minutes or until they become saucy.

Notes: |
Serve it for Idlis/Dosas. Red chilli can be replaced by 1 tsp chilli powder. Urid dal can be replaced by Channa dal. |
