Spicy Fish Fry

Fish fried this way is a treat for spicy food and fish lovers.
Preparation Time : 5 mins

Cooking Time : 15-20 mins

Serves : 3-4

Ingredients:
  • Any White Fish - 1/2 kg cut into 2-3 cm thick slices
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • lemon juice or tamarind juice - 1 tblsp
  • Oil - 8-10 tblspn
  • Salt -as required

Method:
  1. Wash the fish and marinate it with turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice/tamarind juice and required amount of salt for about 10-15 mins.
  2. Heat a shallow frying pan on the stove and add half the oil.
  3. After a minute, add as many pieces of fish on the frying pan.
  4. Fry for about 4-5 mins on a medium heat on one side.
  5. Turn them over and fry for about 4-5 mins on a medium heat on the other side.
  6. Remove them from the pan.
  7. Repeat the above process for any remaining fish.

Notes:
You can fry any fish in this method. If the fish has got lots of small bones, then deep fry them in oil instead of shallow frying. You can also try <a href="/recipes/spicy-fish-fry-2">this</a> method of frying fish.
