Crispy Pakora is a South-Indian snack made with gramflour and spices.

Ingredients :

Gram (Besan ) flour - 200g or 2 of 250ml teacups

Ground rice - 50g or 1/2 of 250ml teacup

Green Chilli - 2 (optional)

Indian onion shallots - 18-20 or 1 medium onion

Grated Ginger - 1/2 tsp
-
Curry leaves - 20-25
-
Sodium bicarbonate - a pinch
-
Asafoetida powder - 2 pinch

Chilli powder - 2 tsp for medium spicy or 3 tsp for extra spicy

Peanuts - 15-20 (optional)

Oil - 4 tblsp or 3 tblsp and 1 tblsp Ghee

Oil - 250ml for deep frying

Salt - to taste
Method :

Peel and chop the onion; Grate the ginger; Deseed the chilli and chop it; Wash and chop the curry leaves. If peanuts are being added, split them.

Sift both the gram flour and ground rice.

Combine all the ingredients except the oil.

Add about 4 tblsp of warm oil and mix well. If all the flour is not yet combined, sprinkle little water to combine everything.

Take about a handful of the pakora mix and spread randomly in the oil and fry.

Crispy Pakoras ready to be eaten.
